About RingYard

A UK landline number that rings the phone you already have, so calls from prison cost the person inside less than half as much.

What we do

Calls from prison to a landline are charged at less than half the rate of calls to a mobile, under the published HMPPS tariff. RingYard gives a family a real UK landline number that rings the phone they already carry — so every call home gets the landline rate, and the same capped spending buys about 2.1× the talk. One plan, £19.99 a month, unlimited minutes, cancel any time in one tap.

Why it exists

The price of a phone call decides how much family contact happens, and the people paying that price have the least room in the budget for it. We are deliberate about the framing: the customer buys access. The saving itself never touches the customer’s pocket — it stays in the capped canteen account of the person inside, and it gets spent on more of the same phone call. We sell staying close, not a discount.

The rules we hold ourselves to

No teaser pricing — the first month costs what every month costs. We never ask the name of the person inside, and we store as little as possible about everyone else (see privacy). The site tells you plainly when the product is not worth buying — our calculator says “don’t buy this” to light users, to their face. The full list is written down at what we believe, where you can hold us to it. And a person answers hello@ringyard.co.uk the same day, seven days a week.

The company

RingYard is a UK service for families of people held in prisons in England and Wales. We are a small team, reachable at contact — and everything we promise in marketing is written into the terms and fair use pages in the same plain English.
