Is there a cap behind the word?
Ask for the number of minutes, and what a minute past it costs.
Does it pass the call on?
Since 11 August 2026, prisons are told to restrict numbers linked to call diversion. Ask in writing.
Is it a real UK landline number?
The lower rate is for landlines. Check the number starts 01, 02 or 03.
Can you stop it yourself?
In one tap, with no notice period. Things change fast inside.

When not to buy it.
Under about 26 minutes a day, the fee is a lot for the difference. A home landline gets the same rate for nothing, if someone is in.

Are there unlimited prison calls in the UK?
Not for the person inside. They pay for every minute from their own account. An unlimited plan is on your side. It covers the number they ring.
Is there an unlimited prison calls app?
You do not need one. A landline number rings your phone like any other call. ringyard has no app. The number installs as an eSIM.
Does unlimited mean they can talk all day?
No. The prison decides when the phones are on and how long a call lasts. Their credit decides how many minutes they can buy.
What does ringyard's unlimited cover?
Every call to your ringyard number, however long. £20 a month. No allowance and no charge per minute. The one limit is resale, autodialling or call-centre use.
When is unlimited not worth it?
If they talk less than about 26 minutes a day, the fee is a lot for the difference. If you have a home landline and someone is in, use that.
