Terms

What you're buying
A UK landline number that forwards its calls to your mobile, so that calls from inside cost the landline rate instead of the mobile rate. The number receives calls only: it cannot make calls, send texts, or dial 999. Use your normal phone for emergencies.
What we promise
Your number is allocated within minutes of payment, in the same area code as the prison where we can. If the prison refuses the number, we swap you onto a fresh one free — and if that fails too, we refund you. If they move prison, we issue a number in the new area code, free, same day.
Included minutes and what happens past them are on the fair use page. The short version: 1,500 minutes a month, 3p a minute after, and no call is ever cut off mid-conversation.
Paying and cancelling
You pay in advance — weekly, monthly, or yearly, whichever you picked. Cancel any time at ringyard.co.uk/account: it stops the next payment, and your number keeps working to the end of the period you have paid for.
You also have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of signing up under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Because the service starts immediately, we can deduct a fair charge for the days it ran; the rest comes back.
If a payment fails we email you and keep your line running while we retry. We do not cut calls over a bounced card.
When your subscription ends
Your number stops forwarding when the paid period runs out. We then hold it out of use for 90 days before it can ever be reissued, so a call from inside can never reach a stranger while your number is still on their phone list.
What we're not responsible for
The prison decides what goes on a phone list and how long approval takes — we can't promise their timelines, only that the number we give you is an ordinary landline with nothing about it to object to. We are also not responsible for your mobile network's coverage. Where something is our fault, our liability is capped at what you've paid us in the last 12 months; nothing in these terms limits liability the law says can't be limited.
The legal frame
The contract is with Ringyard (company details to follow incorporation), under the law of England and Wales. Disputes we can't settle between us go to our Ofcom-approved alternative dispute resolution scheme, free for you to use.
