PhoneSavvy's number is diverted to your mobile — it passes your call on. Since 11 August 2026, that is the kind of number prisons are told to restrict. It can be refused, or taken away later. Ours is a real landline on your own phone, with nothing passed on.

PhoneSavvy takes the call on their number and sends it on to your mobile. That is a divert, and a prison can spot one.
When they do, the number stops working — sometimes months later, once you have come to rely on it. Then you start again and wait weeks to be approved.
